Haematologist Dr. Lee Yuh Shan practises in Singapore at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and Gleneagles Hospital. He specialises on malignant haematology, which includes transplants of hematopoietic stem cells and diseases like lymphoma, leukaemia, and myeloma. At the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Maryland, where he gained firsthand experience treating patients through clinical trials for aggressive lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), he acquired his expertise in lymphoma. In 1982, Dr. Ang Peng Tiam received a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He completed a residency in internal medicine, and in 1986 he was awarded a Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine). In 1989, he finished his Fellowship in Medical Oncology at Stanford University Medical Center and the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. In 1977, Dr. Ang received the Singapore President's Scholarship. As the top candidate in the Master of Medicine Clinical Examinations in 1986, he received the Prof Sir Gordon Arthur Ransome Gold Medal. In 1996, he received Singapore's National Science Award for his excellent contributions to medical research. He received a datukship from the Sultan of Kedah in 2003 as thanks for his public work. From 1991 to 1997, Dr. Ang served as the organization's first Head of the Medical Oncology Division at Singapore General Hospital. At the NUS Faculty of Medicine, he simultaneously held the positions of Director of the Oncology Center and Clinical Associate Professor.
