BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Gan graduated with his MBBS from National University of Singapore in 1987, his Masters in Medicine (Surgery) from the same institution in 1992, and he has been a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh since 1991 and the Academy of Medicine of Singapore since 1998. His primary research interests are in genitourinary cancers, including benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostate cancer, and other genitourinary cancers such testicular, kidney, and bladder cancer as well as kidney stones, men's health, and infertility. At St. Vincent's and Western Hospital in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, where he was an honorary Fellow, he researched the use of lasers in the treatment of prostate and kidney stones.
At the University of California, Irvine, USA, and the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Victoria, Australia, he also finished his mini-residency in robotic radical prostatectomy.
At the New York Hospital in the United States, he received instruction on male fertility. He worked for the public health system in Singapore after his return, including time spent in the National Kidney Transplant Program, before starting his own practise in 2001. Since 1998, Dr. Gan has been recognised by the Specialist Board, Singapore's Ministry of Health, and the Singapore Medical Council.
