Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, Singapore | Singapore , Singapore

Profile (Overview)

To get to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH) and Jurong Community Hospital, we set off on an adventurous excursion (JCH). We started by going out into the community to speak with people about what they would like to see in a publicly reformed hospital. Starting from scratch, we focused on designing a hospital that is built around patients to provide integrated care and services. We also visited a number of hospitals both domestically and abroad to observe their patient-centered infrastructure, seamless services, and best practises. The first hospitals in Singapore to be planned and constructed as an integrated healthcare development from the ground up are NTFGH and JCH.They were created to give patient-centered services in a fluid and integrated approach, with the goal of revolutionising how healthcare is provided to the local population. For improved patient care, increased effectiveness, and convenience, they complement one another. The planning process for the hospital included how patient care, treatment, and rehabilitation might continue without interruption between the two facilities. Patients who no longer require acute care can recover in a facility that is better suited to their requirements thanks to the twinning of NTFGH and JCH. They are intended to guarantee the seamless and integrated delivery of patient-centered services. This is a natural outcome of how hospitals are built, how healthcare is delivered, and how they are connected to the local community. One healthcare organisation oversees both hospitals, facilitating integration at all levels. Along with linked medical data and treatment plans, patients gain from co-management by clinicians from the two hospitals. Care and procedures are effortlessly coordinated for patients and their caregivers when the two facilities are operated as one.
