BIOGRAPHY

She received her Guy's degree in 1981 and, in 1986, she earned a Masters in Conservative Dentistry from the Eastman Dental Institute. In 1991, she was hired by the Eastman as a consultant and an honorary senior lecturer in pediatric dentistry. She started working as a consultant in pediatric dentistry at the Edinburgh Dental Institute in 1999 and held that post until 2011, when she was appointed department head and appointed dean of the faculty of dental surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She moved to join the Paediatric Dental team at Great Ormond Street Hospital in March 2018 after returning to London in 2015 to accept a consultant position at the Eastman Dental Hospital. She engages in active dento-legal activity and frequently collaborates with Medical Protection. She was on the Board of Dental Protection for ten years, ten of which she spent as Chairman beginning in 2006. The restorative treatment of dental abnormalities is her primary clinical interest. She remains one of the few Consultants in Paediatric Dentistry who has received formal training in adult conservative dentistry, enabling me to modify procedures used to treat elderly patients for the needs of developing dentitions.
