Dr. Rajesh R Nair

"Dr. Rajesh R. Nair is a Professor and the Director of Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation Services at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Kochi. He specialises in chronic kidney disease, kidney transplantation, transplant immunology, research, and management. He was a key member of the pioneering team that was essential in establishing deceased organ transplantation in the state. He has eighteen years of Nephrology teaching experience and is a member of the Indian and International Societies of Nephrology, the European Dialysis and Transplant Association, and the American Society of Nephrology. He sat on the executive committee of the Indian Society of Nephrology Southern Chapter. He has presented invited talks in a variety of academic settings, published papers in national and international journals, and written chapters for textbooks. He serves as a regular peer reviewer for publications submitted to the Indian Journal of Nephrology. He just received Fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians of London and the University of Edinburgh. Ongoing research initiatives include stem cell transplantation in multiple myeloma with renal failure, as well as an epidemiological study of proteinuria prevalence and risk factors in the community."
