Dr. Abi Abraham M

Dr. Abi Abraham M has over 27 years of clinical and academic experience (after DM). He specialises in kidney transplantation, critical care nephrology, vasculitis, lupus, and electrolyte problems. He has received three prestigious scholarships, has extensively recognised papers in peer-reviewed journals, is a member of numerous renal societies, and has held managerial roles in organisations. He was a Nephrology Associate Professor at Christian Medical College in Vellore. In the previous 16 years, Lakeshore Hospital has performed over 1600 renal transplants. He has successfully done multiple challenging kidney transplants, including those that were across blood groups, sensitised, re-transplanted, geriatric, and paediatric transplants. He has successfully established a huge maintenance dialysis programme. He has built Lakeshore Hospital into the largest critical care nephrology centre in Kerala, as well as the centre that performs the most CRRTs. He runs a nephrology training programme (DNB nephrology) and was the organising chairman of the Indian Society of Organ Transplantation's most recent annual conference (2021). (ISOT).
