Entropion is a condition in which your lower eyelid is turned inward, forcing your eyelashes to brush against your eyeball and creating irritation. Entropion (en-TROH-pee-on) is a disorder in which the inside of your eyelid turns inward, rubbing your eyelashes and skin against the eye surface.
Entropion surgery can be performed under local anaesthetic at your doctor's office. Your doctor will apply many sutures in particular areas along the afflicted eyelid after numbing it. The stitches cause the eyelid to turn outward, and the scar tissue that forms as a result holds it in place long after the stitches are removed.
