BIOGRAPHY

Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC)'s Clinical Director of Urology for the South Sector is Mr. Khaver Qureshi. He has a broad practice treating both men and women with a variety of urological disorders. He is a Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon with a special interest in urological malignancy. In 1992, Mr. Qureshi earned his medical degree from Saint Bartholomew's Medical College in London. Based in London and Birmingham, he received his fundamental surgical training. His doctorate in medicine (MD), which focused on bladder cancer and artificial neural networks, was granted by Newcastle University in 2002 after he was successful in receiving a research funding from the Cancer Research Campaign. Mr. Qureshi was named the West of Scotland Managed Clinical Network's Lead Clinician for Urological Cancer in 2007. He was given the position of Clinical Director for Urology in Glasgow in 2011 and was in charge of rebuilding the relationship between the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH). He is very interested in service development, and in 2015, the QEUH under his direction developed robotic urology surgery. He currently serves as the senior member of the renal cancer team at GGC and has a general urology practice in addition to doing upper tract surgeries using open, endoscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic techniques.
