BIOGRAPHY
Dr. SK Rajan is a 'AO International' Certified Spine Surgeon with over 19 years of expertise in the surgical field gained from a number of institutions throughout the world.
Dr. Rajan received his surgical training at prestigious Indian institutions such as PGI Chandigarh and GB Pant Hospital in New Delhi. Recognizing his passion for treating spinal disorders and the fact that spine work necessitates a high level of expertise, he moved to the UK and then to the US to work with some of the most prominent international leaders in the field of spine surgery (Prof. Edward Benzel at the Cleveland Clinic and Mr. Adrian Casey in London).
Before joining Artemis as the Head of Spine Surgery and Associate Director of Neurosurgery, he worked as an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery, Chief Spine Surgeon, and Head of Neurosurgery in a number of busy Central Government and big private hospitals in Delhi.
Dr. Rajan was one of just a few people chosen from throughout the world for the coveted International World Federation of Neurosurgeons Fellowship to the United States in 2009. He was also recently recognised for his achievements to the field of spine surgery with the 'AWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN SPINE SURGERY' at the Global Healthcare Excellence Awards in New Delhi. He's also known in the national neurosurgery community for effectively using and popularising novel and unique procedures for the treatment of a variety of difficult spinal problems, particularly those affecting the Craniovertebral Junction (upper neck) and the Lumbosacral Junction (lower back). He has almost 3000 procedures under his belt, including some of the most severe spine cases and those complicated by other surgeons. On a range of congenital, degenerative, scoliotic (deformity), traumatic, and infective issues of the complete spine, he performs both open and minimally invasive spine procedures (Fusions as well as Motion Preservation Surgeries).
