BIOGRAPHY
Dr. (Lt Gen) CS Narayanan received his DM (Neurology) from AIIMS in 1998 and has spent the last 20 years overseeing clinical services, teaching, and research in neurology at the Armed Forces' top tertiary care centres. He ascended to the rank of Lt Gen, the highest a medical practitioner may achieve in the Armed Forces, and was appointed to the position of Dy Chief Integrated Defence Staff. As Maj Gen, he held two key positions: Dy Commandant and Dean (Academics) at Army Hospital (Research and Referral), the Armed Forces' apex super-specialty hospital, and Senior Consultant (Medicine), where he was responsible for overseeing the professional care of all specialists and super-specialists in the Medical Services of the Armed Forces (AFMS).
He was part of the team that established numerous powerful neurology sub-specialty programmes, including acute stroke treatment, epilepsy surgery, and sophisticated immuno-modulatory therapy for multiple sclerosis, during his extended tenure at Army Hospital (R&R).
