Dr. Fayaz Shawl

Currently, Dr. Shawl serves as the Director of Interventional Cardiology at Adventist Healthcare's White Oak Medical Center in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA. He is also a clinical professor of medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., USA, and has been a visiting interventional cardiologist at Zulekha Hospital Dubai since 2006. Since he conducted the first angioplasty at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, in 1981, Dr. Fayaz Shawl has made significant contributions to almost every field of interventional cardiology. Dr. Shawl is one of the few interventionists in the world who has performed more than 20,000 angioplasty procedures.
